After so many delays that a mixtape was merited to appease ravenous fans, it appears as if Lil Wayne‘s much-anticipated Tha Carter IV will, in fact, hit stores August 29th. In an interview with Billboard, Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, confirmed that the album is complete, adding, “He put the mixtape and the album in my hand the same day. He turned it in [to me] yesterday.” Bryant also said that Wayne will release the album in conjunction with an August 28th appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards; fans will be able download the LP from iTunes “immediately after” the rapper steps off stage.
As for the rumored tracklists making their way around the web, Bryant said there are “thirty songs [that] I need to carve down to twelve to sixteen, with four or so bonus tracks.” He did, however, reveal that Tech N9ne, Jadakiss, and Nas will make cameos.
