If anyone reads the comments on some of the tour postings here on CoS, you’ll know that it isn’t always easy being a live music fan in Florida (though, there is some hope). So, when a beloved venue goes the way of CBGB, it calls for some acknowledgment. Against Me! has crafted such an homage for Common Grounds, a venue in their hometown of Gainesville, FL which recently shuttered doors that had welcomed artists and fans for 15 years.

It comes in the form of their video for “Because of the Shame” off their album White Crosses. As much a tribute to Gainesville itself as it is to Common Grounds, the clip splices footage from the band’s final show at the venue amongst streets and landmarks that may be familiar to residents of the town. Feel the passion the boys have for their music, fans, and hometown in the video below.
