Listening to Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears on record and seeing them live are two rather entertaining experiences themselves, but in the new video for “Mustang Ranch” from their latest LP — Scandalous – the Austin, TX-based outfit takes it to a whole new level. The Justin Buschardt-illustrated, Tad Catalano-animated clip finds the group animated and in search of a “ham glazing” at the world famous Mustang Ranch. Clocking in at nearly four-minutes it video opens with the cartoon versions of Lewis and bassist Bill Stevenson plotting a visit to the brothel as they drive from Salt Lake City to San Francisco. It ends with spit-swapping, fire, and aliens. Even more surprising is that it’s not as NSFW as one would expect. Check it out above.
