For The Mountan Goats‘ music video for “Estate Sale Sign” (available below via Pitchfork.tv), it would be easy to compare the visuals (courtesy of directing team Awesome and Modest) to Transformers. That is, if Transformers featured creepy, Robert Crumb-inspired animation of freakish animals turning into even freakier creatures with skin being peeled off humans and rats revealing even more frightening monstrosities. At least the battle for a snow globe ends on a romantic high note of loneliness and abandonment. Michael Bay must be so jealous he didn’t think to go this way.
