According to the festival’s press release, the 77 Million Paintings installment incorporates video and sound to construct “a constantly evolving sound and image scape” that “encourages the viewer to slow down and enter a contemplative state, reflecting on the uniqueness of a passing moment that has almost certainly never existed before.” Quite a rare installment, it’s previously been housed at well regarded locales such as the Venice Biennale, the Milan Triennale, and the Sydney Opera House.
More details to emerge regarding the “Illustrated Talk” segment, though both of these events will be ticketed separately. For the “Illustrated Talk”, a special on-sale will be available for weekend passholders at a reduced fare, and any remaining tickets will then go on-sale to the general public. However, over the Halloween weekend, the 77 Million Paintings installment will only be open to MoogFest passholders, who will also have an opportunity to purchase tickets at reduced fare. The exhibition will then open for the general public starting November 2nd.
MoogFest takes place October 28-30th in Asheville, NC. Along with Eno, this year’s lineup promises performances by The Flaming Lips, Moby, Passion Pit, Tangerine Dream, Suicide, Amon Tobin, M83, Chromeo, Battles, and more. Tickets are currently available.
