Documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me, The Greatest Movie Ever Sold) currently runs A Day In The Life, a web show which aims to do exactly what its title implies: present an “intimate, first-hand account” of a complete day in the life of “fascinating people.” The six-episode series kicked off last month with the eccentric billionaire Richard Branson and has since featured cultural class satirist Russell Peters and creative period punctuator will.i.am. Now, episode four has turned the spotlight on music mashup hero Gregg Gillis (aka Girl Talk).
The 22-minute clip, available below, details Gillis’ rise to fame, from his humble beginnings as a working musician in Pittsburgh all the way up to his recently found super stardom. We also get a glimpse at his pre-show preparations as much of the episode was filmed prior to his performance at this year’s Hangout Music Festival. There’s even a scene featuring our own Scott Greenberg and Max Blau, who interviewed Gillis prior to his set. So…metawesome?
