The angriest giant has the biggest heart. That’s a lesson to learn on Tom Waits‘ latest single, “Back in the Crowd”. Over reflective Spanish-styled guitar work, courtesy of Los Lobos’ David Hidalgo and longtime collaborator Marc Ribot, Waits lightly croons, “And if you don’t want my love, don’t make me stay.” It’s a light saunter; most likely something your grandparents danced to after the war. It certainly doesn’t sound like a track that’s on an album titled Bad as Me. But, we’re open to surprises. Check it out via Spotify and/or iTunes.

Bad as Me hits stores October 24th.

Marc RIBOT btw. Him and Tom so well suited together, I was so happy to see them working together again back when ”Mule Variations” came out.
