Next month, Chicago embraces punk rock with the sixth annual edition of Riot Fest. Featuring headliners Weezer, Social Distortion, Danzig, and the recently reunited Descendents, the sprawling festival head butts the Second City from October 5-9th over four venues: Congress Theater, Bottom Lounge, Cobra Lounge, and the Double Door.
However, if you’re not willing to forgo your capitalistic tendencies, or you’re really not into torn denim, then perhaps you’d just like to see Weezer? They’ll be closing out the festival on Sunday, October 9th at the Congress Theatre, and as usual, we’re offering you a chance to grab some free tickets. What will it cost you? Your opinion. How easy is that? Pretty simple. Just comment below with your favorite Weezer lyric and we’ll choose our favorite. It might help if you Like us on Facebook and let us know there, too. Just sayin’.
Also, Chicago’s WXRT, in conjunction with Weezer, is hosting a poll to decide which album the band should perform: their 1994 debut or their sophomore followup, Pinkerton. The night’s fate is in your hands! So be sure to vote, especially if you think you’re going to win these tickets. Voting ends Monday, September 26th.
Lastly, if you’re the rioting type, you should really pick up your festival tickets!
