Stream: Pink Floyd’s The Greatest Gig in the Sky

In celebration of this week’s reissues, YouTube is hosting The Greatest Gig in the Sky, a “once-in-a-lifetime streaming event” that showcases Pink Floyd’s truly epic performance at Empire Pool, now Wembley Arena, where they performed their groundbreaking 1973 effort, Dark Side of the Moon. Dating back to November 1974, this unreleased recording was captured straight from the soundboards and has since been custom-mixed and remastered by Andy Jackson. Fans who visit the special YouTube page will have the opportunity to listen to the entire concert over original Pink Floyd concert films, all restored to full quality, too. Don’t worry if you missed it. The performance repeats again and again. As a press release notes, “Each show will be different as fans across the globe comment in real time and become part of this unique experience.”

Between the fully-stacked reissues and Jimmy Fallon’s Floyd fiesta this week, die hard fanatics should have their hands (and ears) full. To take part in the action, go visit YouTube right now and plug in – it won’t cost you any “Money”, only your “Time”. Oh, that was too easy.
