When The Creators Project returns to NYC next month, the festivities will extend beyond Yeah Yeah Yeahs leader Karen O’s “psycho-opera” Stop The Virgens. Come October 15th and 16th, the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn will be aflutter with live performances and original studio works by new and innovative artists, musicians, designers, and filmmakers. Thank god, the artistic elite will finally have something to do in Brooklyn.
The Creators Project‘s two-day Monster Arts and Culture Festival will feature performances from Florence and the Machine, The Field, Atlas Sound, Four Tet, John Maus, Teen Daze, ASAP Rocky, Clams Casino, and a slew of other bands. Those looking for more shows/films besides Stop The Virgens can also check out Life on Mars Revisited, a short film by music photographer Mick Rock and filmmaker Barney Clay based on David Bowie’s classic space-rock anthem. Spiritualized’s J. Spaceman also will be displaying We Are Floating in Space, a “cathedral-like physical manifestation of the song.” For more on each of the installations, head here.
The event is free, but guests must RSVP to attend (entrance to the festival is limited to one day per visitor). The festival runs from 12-10 p.m. on Saturday the 15th and 12-8 p.m. on Sunday the 16th. Stay tuned for additional news and info as it’s announced.
