Check Out: Los Campesinos! – “Hello Sadness”

By Michael Roffman on October 11th, 2011 in New Music, News

On “Hello Sadness”, the title track off Los Campesinos! forthcoming fourth studio album, Gareth Campesino cribs a little from Robert Smith (or Conor Oberst, if you wanna keep things modern), while the band itself channels an early ’80s Manchester sound – specifically New Order circa Power, Corruption, & Lies. Bottom line: It’s very British in a very “randy” way. Who’s to complain? Hardly anyone if tastes off the new LP keep up this sort of fever. Check it out at Pitchfork, and if you haven’t spun previous track “By Your Hand”, get to it.

Hello Sadness hits streets November 15th via Arts & Crafts.
