Seven months later, Foo Fighters‘ old-school speedster “White Limo” still sounds sharp and exhausting. Now, NME points to a Foo-endorsed remix of the track by English electronic outfit The Prodigy. Buggy and complete with highway-screeching blips and bloops, the new cut sounds a little sluggish, but only so you can feel a little cooler as you “groove” to it down the road. So, why is there a remix? As Prodigy leader Liam Howlett writes from his official site, “heres my remix of ‘white limo’/ foo fighters that dave asked me to do , heres the instrumental for yo ass aswell!” Maybe Grohl was a big fan of Fat of the Land back in the day? Or, perhaps it just seemed like the best idea at the time. Regardless, check out the two songs below, and speculate for yourself. Besides, it’s not like they haven’t surprised us in weird ways for the past few months, anyhow.
