As previously reported, Radiohead plans to finally tour behind their eighth LP, The King of Limbs, beginning next year. Speaking recently with BBC 6 Music, the band’s guitarist, Ed O’Brien, offered a few additional dates as to what we can expect.

According to O’Brien, the band is finalizing dates now, though the plan is to hit “the usual ports of call” between February and November. However, don’t expect shows similar to what the band was delivering during their In Rainbows tour. ”I think the important thing is that it’s got to be a set in itself, it’s got to work. Last time we went out, it felt very much like In Rainbows plus the greatest hits. And it’s not going to be like that this time. I guess it’s going to be predominantly from this record and the last record, and then see which songs fit around that.”

Consequently, the band plans to play a majority of their scheduled shows, especially the ones in Europe, in indoor venues. ”Outdoor gigs can be the best gigs, but you’re at the mercy of the elements. It just doesn’t feel right at this time. The record, which has a lot of detail in it, it needs to sonically be in a space where the music is loud, strong, and detailed.” It sounds like those recent duo of dates at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom are a good glimpse of what’s to come.
