The Flaming Lips will close out their most adventurous year yet with their fifth annual New Year’s Freakout. The two-night party goes down December 31st, 2011 and January 1st, 2012 at Bricktown Events Center in the band’s hometown of Okalahoma City, Oklahoma.
According to a press release, the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band will appear as special guests for both nights. In addition, the Lips will be selling a number of their 2011 endeavors, including the now-infamous gummy fetus, their new live album The Soft Bulletin: Live La Fantastique de Institution 2011, and their six-hour long song “Found A Star On The Ground”, which comes packaged on a USB drive in a light illusion toy called The Strobo Trip. 10 points to whoever can get a picture with Yoko while holding up the gummy fetus.
Tickets go on sale today, Friday Nov 25th, and are priced at $100 per night or available at a special package price of $150 for both nights.
