Video: Beyoncé and The Roots play “Countdown” on Fallon

By Alex Young on November 12th, 2011 in News, Video

Even when J-Fal’s musical entertainment is a pre-taped performance from four months ago (note the stomach), it’s better than anything the competition offers. Below, watch Beyoncé perform the 4 stand-out “Countdown”, with some help from The Roots.

Yep, that’s Coldplay’s Chris Martin standing next to Fallon at the end of the performance. He also appeared on the show, though since his band plays Saturday Night Live tonight his appearance was taped this week, which means that’s some really nifty editing work right there. Watch Martin’s segment, which sees him discussing Mylo Xyloto and doing the caterpillar, below.

Both Queen Bey’s CoS Top Star-earning 4 and Coldplay’s semi-decent Mylo Xyloto are out now.

That was quite a light performance from Bey. Chris is really funny. :)

So J-Fal’s new show’s are all being taped previously in the week or 4 month’s ahead of time? I thought rerun’s were for summertime. I know the performance was good, I just question what happened to the original musical guest of the evening?

Fair point, though I only remember Fallon having aired pre-taped segments two or three times in the past. Plus, Beyoncé isn’t your ordinary musical guest.
