Shara Worden (aka My Brightest Diamond) makes giant-sized art-pop rich in emotion and texture. If you could somehow visualize her musical aesthetic (that undoubtedly requires a laboratory with lots of beakers), it would be the music video for “High Low Middle”. The clip sees Worden take a gloomy neighborhood meeting and turn it into an evening of song and dance, with bright, over-the-top colors, balloons and confetti, and plenty of smiling faces. Not bad for a song about Detroit’s economic turmoil. Check it out below (via Disco Naïveté).
My Brightest Diamond’s latest album, All Things Will Unwind, is out now.
