
Two of New York City’s most famed institutions – Jay-Z and Carnegie Hall — will finally meet early next year. According to RapRadar, the rapper will play a pair of charity shows at the venue on February 6th and 7th. Tickets will be sold privately on December 12th,
The shows will benefit both his own Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation and the United Way, which has a program aiming to improve graduation rates among New York City teenagers.
Says Hov in an issued statement:
“Its every artists dream to play a venue as legendary as Carnegie Hall. The fact that I can use the arts and my talent to benefit the education of the next generation of artists, entrepreneurs, and great thinkers makes for a legendary night. I’m proud to be a part of the continuing work of United Way of New York City and expanding the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.”
