Pop sensation The Ting Tings have revealed more details of their upcoming sophomore LP. According to SPIN.com, the album is titled Sounds From Nowhereville and will see release in U.K. on February 27th and in the U.S. in early March via Columbia Records.
Spanning 10 tracks, the album was written in Paris and recorded in Mercia and Berlin over the course of eight months. Speaking with SPIN, the band cited a variety of influences, including Beastie Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Petshop Boys, Sex Pistols, and even tUnE-YarDs. ”We had a look onstage at what she was doing with her loop pedals. She’s an amazing singer,” The Ting Tings’ Katie White said of tUnE-YarDs’ Merill Garbus.
Of the 10 tracks included, we’ve already heard “Hang It Up” (you can hear it again below). However, the previously revealed single titled “Hands” did not making the cut. Also, despite rumors, neither Rihanna nor Jay-Z will appear on the album.
