Synchronized dancing isn’t creepy, per se. (It’s usually just irritating – especially if it’s a flash mob.) But, in the latest video by Arcade Fire, this time for “Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)”, dancing has never felt so eerie. If you’ve seen the band perform the song live, you know leading lady Régine Chassagne loves to get down to this song. But, who knew on video it’d conjure up memories of George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead or John Carpenter’s They Live? If you have a webcam, you can join in on the madness. If not, watch the ‘traditional’ version below. On a side note: Arcade Fire papier maché heads are already the #1 selling costume in Williamsburg for Halloween 2012.

Alnd here’s the Win Butler-narrated ‘Invitation’ video, shot from Haiti.

“Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)”, directed by Vincent Morisset, marks the band’s second interactive video of The Suburbs album cycle. Click here to relive Chris Milk’s The Wilderness Downtown.
