For his latest effort, Destroyed, Moby carved out a 15-track medley full of, as he put it, “broken down melodic electronic music for empty cities at 2 a.m.” and then some. Throughout the year, he’s supported the release with a touring photo installment, featuring his shots taken from all across the world. So, clearly there’s a travel element to this LP. That idea continues in his latest video for “The Right Thing”, the fourth single off the new effort.
Everything looks stripped from the ’70s in this clip. As singer Inyang Bassey croons the soulful ballad, she walks about New York City, traveling through the subway systems, walking in the city’s many parks, and strolling across one of the Big Apple’s historic bridges. New Yorkers pining for the old gritty days will no doubt revel in nostalgia here. Judging from the three and a half minutes, it’s like Rudy Giuliani never took office. Sort of a scary thought, come to think of it. Check out the exclusive premiere below.
We’ve also got an exclusive premiere of Man Without Country’s remix of “After”. If you’re looking to get a head start on the weekend’s festivities, jump in below.
Don’t forget: Moby’s deluxe edition of Destroyed is available everywhere.
