Expensive Looks is the pseudonym for up-and-coming New York-based electro wizard Alec Feld. A child of the Chicago house scene who grew up listening to everything from Motown to psychedelic rock, Feld’s sample-heavy brand of electronic music falls somewhere between the hazy nonchalance of Washed Out and the strobe-light intensity of Crystal Castles.

His debut album, Dark Matters, hits stores on January 17th via Group Tightener. For an early listen, check out the album’s new single “Moving Visions” (via SPIN.com).
