School of Seven Bells and A Place To Bury Strangers represent opposing ideas on the musical spectrum (the former makes dreamy, ethereal pop, while the latter drives at a nosier, shoegaze-inspired sound). Despite these aesthetic points of incompatibility, the twain have met before when A Place to Bury Strangers remixed ”Windstorm” back in June 2010.
Now, SVIIB is adding their ambient spin to A Place to Bury Strangers’ sound with a remix of “So Far Away” from the recently-released EP Onwards to the Wall. Even as lighter, textured bits of synth and drums engage in a tug of war with brazen, almost destructive bits of pure feedback, the end result is utter harmony. Stream it below (via SPIN.com).
