It’s Christmas Day for festival-goers of the Pacific Northwest’s tried and true Sasquatch! Music Festival, though we’re still a few hours away from the big reveal. Tonight at Seattle’s Neptune Theater, Adam Zacks and co. will reveal the festival’s 2012 lineup. What to do until then? Let’s discuss.
This year’s lineup has been a tough one to crack. A few acts have tours leading up to the festival, including Spiritualized, M. Ward, and Starfucker, though I Break Horses is the only act to have self-confirmed an appearance. As Seattle’s KEXP points out, acts like The Shins, Beirut, St. Vincent, Girl Talk, and Lana Del Rey were among the names to briefly appear on the festival’s website last week, however, they were removed shortly thereafter.
Of course, everyone has their own predictions. KEXP considers Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, At the Drive-In, and Shabazz Palaces as likely performers, while The Pacific Northwest Inlader believes The Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, and The Flaming Lips will make appearances. The unofficial Sasquatch! Music Blog has 50 predictions of their own, including Bon Iver, Deadmau5, The Avett Brothers, MGMT, At the Drive-In, St. Vincent, James Blake, Beirut, and Built to Spill.
Who do you think will appear on tonight’s lineup? Will Björk finally make her way west? Might Jack White make his solo debut there? How many acts playing Primavera will make that long flight to the Gorge? Feel free to discuss all this and more below, and if you have your own prediction or “leak” share those, too. That’s why we call this an ‘Open Thread.’
