If you’ve been lucky enough to catch Bon Iver on any of their recent dates, you’ll no doubt recall the lush instrumentation that supports the band’s work, specifically on tracks like “Perth”, “Holocene”, or “Beth/Rest”. But, what if it were all stripped down? Recently, 4AD/Jagjaguwar collaborated on a unique online video session, featuring both Justin Vernon and S. Carey at London’s AIR Studios, where the two knocked out plenty of favorites from their discography over nearly 25 minutes. It’s an intensely intimate experience and listeners will be shocked to hear some of these songs in essentially skeleton form. Check it out below.
