Forget Faux Loco and celebrity branded novelty items. In May, Dan the Automator, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, and Kid Koala’s futuristic hip-hop outfit Deltron 3030 slays these two birds with its own personal beer and cider hybrid. Produced by Dogfish Head Craft and Brewery, the brew is called “Positive Contact”, after the standout track on the band’s debut LP, and is “based on Dan’s favorite ingredients and Dogfish Head’s innovative brewing practices,” according to a press release.
For the beer enthusiasts slavering away right now, that entails a 9% ABV “brewed with wood-pressed Fuji apples, roasted farro, a handful of cayenne peppers and a late dose of fresh cilantro. This sweet-and-sour Belgian-ish brew is a light straw color with fruity, cider-like notes. The cayenne and alcohol give it a warming finish.”
Sound delicious? Just wait, it gets better. Your warming, cider-like notes will arrive in a self-advertised “house party in a box”: six 250-mL champagne bottles of the elixir comes with a 10-inch vinyl EP of exclusive Deltron 3030 remixes and a list of Deltron 3030-inspired recipes from a select group of renowned chefs.
Positive Contact will hit retailers in May. Deltron 3030’s long-in-the-works sophomore LP, Deltron Event II, is reportedly due this spring.
