Singer-songwriter Dent May will return with his sophomore album, Do Things, on June 12th via Animal Collective’s imprint Paw Tracks. According to a press release, the follow-up to 2009’s Dent May and His Magnificent Ukulele sees May abandoning his famous stringed instrument to explore different styles “somewhere between ‘60s psychedelia and disco-era balladry in the vein of Ashford and Simpson.” The first cut off the new record, “Fun”, certainly has that vibe. Perfect for summer, the track’s sun-baked synthesizers bounce and shimmer like asphalt heat while May reassures us, “It’s gonna be fun.” Check it out below.

In support of the release, Dent May will be playing a slew of shows at South by Southwest. Find the full schedule below.
