Having already contributed to a future spike in childbirths with Usher, super producer Diplo is now turning his attention to recording a reggae album with Snoop Dogg. As MTV News reports, the duo have recorded 18 tracks for the effort, with Diplo securing his first gig as executive-producer. “Snoop Dogg is an icon, man; he’s bigger than the music,” Diplo said. “What we’re doing is a reggae record. It’s like Snoop Dogg and Major Lazer together. It’s all reggae and he’s singing and he’s doing a f—ing awesome job and I never knew it, but he had his heart in every song.”
No word yet on when the LP will be released, so stay tuned for more. In the meantime, take a listen to the Diplo-produced “That Tree”, off the Malice N Wonderland re-release, More Malice.
