Reggie Watts scores Ridley Scott’s Legend

Known for his entirely unique performances, comedian and beatboxer extraordinaire Reggie Watts may have just trumped all with his on-the-spot scoring of director Ridley Scott’s Tom Cruise-starring cult classic Legend.

A quote via BrooklynVegan details the recording: “The 1:31 long soundtrack was created on the fly by Reggie using his voice, looping devices, three synthesizers and various effects to make a strangely beautiful and humorous original score as the film silently rolled at The Roxie during SF Sketchfest. The soundtrack made its world premiere at SXSW to a sold out house.”

The score runs the gamut from Mystery Science Theater 3000-style dubbing, to Tenacious D-esque theatrics, to moments that recall Air’s Le Voyage Dans la Lune. Dark Side of Oz, meet your match. Download the entire thing using the widget below.
