No strangers to scoring epic tales of mighty dragons, The National have contributed a song to the Game of Thrones’ season two soundtrack. Penned by series creator George R.R. Martin himself, “The Rains of Castamere” celebrates *SPOILER* Lord Tywin Lannister’s crushing defeat of the rebellious House Reyne of Castamere. Streameth ye olde track below (via ChartAttack.com).

Game Of Thrones: Season Two the soundtrack will be released on June 19th via Varese Sarabande.

Actually, yes, there is a HUGE book 3 spoiler in the Major Performances section on that link.

I love how you put a spoiler warning before something that’s not even a spoiler (it happened long before the story, that’s just the origin of the song) but put a link to a website where you can read the biggest spoiler of them all. Fans who have not read the books: Do not click on “celebrates” unless you want to be spoiled on the biggest moment of the series.

Not really a spoiler considering the battle mentioned happened many years before the ASOIAF  series (and the show of course), but I appreciate the warning.
