Question of the Day: Coachella’s Monday Announcement?

questionoftheday1 Question of the Day: Coachellas Monday Announcement?

This coming Monday, May 14th, at 10:00 am PT, Coachella will make an announcement regarding its 2013 iteration. In all likelihood it’ll be to announce the festival’s 2013 dates. But for the sake of today’s conversation, let’s assume promoters GoldenVoice throw us one giant curveball and announce something ‘else.’

What would you like to see Coachella announce on Monday? A return to the one-weekend format, or an expansion to three weekends? A new location? Daft Punk headlining? An all hologram lineup? A ban on celebrities?

One weekend.
It kind of killed Weekend 2 for me since every person, blog, and website had spoiled pretty much all that makes the guest appearances and general dopeness that is Coachella.

Alcohol everywhere would be hella appreciated.

More A/C tents and hydration stations.

No more beer gardens…serve alcohol everywhere

May 13, 2012 at 10:21 am

21 and over only.
Less alcohol have a smoking tent.
Return to one weekend.

Beer everywhere will lead to drunk people talking everywhere during intimate shows not to mention more trash on the ground and definitely more vomit. It’s a music festival, bring your own party favors

Likely dates and presale info for next year.

They should introduce a new camping area right beside the Sahara this time so all the EDMer’s and dubsteppers can be segregated from the rest of us.

Then they should book Queens of the Stone Age, Daft Punk, Dandy Warhols, Decemberists, Edward Sharp, Fucked Up, Garbage, The Stooges, Mark Lanegan, and Portugal. The Man.

Then they should ensure that they don’t book half of the best acts on Saturday again like they did this year.

No way their announcing a headliner..I say is just the dates, probably going back to one weekend, and will probably annouce that there will be multiple major headliners…think of the money they made this year.

Morrissey’s hologram performing with the rest of the Smiths. You can add in Morrissey’s hologram continuously complaining about smelling burning animal flesh…

Bowie & Daft Punk headlining, free drinks & or food with vip (come on I pay extra, I should get something besides a place to hang. Even the small little edm festival at home gave me 2 free alcohol drinks with my vip) They should also consider doing events inbetween the two weekends for ppl attending both weekends, the only thing happening was the Ace hotel. Bigger Heinekin Dome. Not so much same sounding electronic artists in Sahara.

1. No more native american costumes
2. Devise some sort of test to weed out people who aren’t real music fans and who go to Coachella for the “experience”
3. Have a middle festival in between the two weekends
4. Less jaded hedonistic ravers

I totally support number 2

May 11, 2012 at 5:43 pm

A DVD release date of the performances…

Paperless entry, or some measure to prevent the shameless scalping that marked the 2012 festival.

May 11, 2012 at 4:42 pm

Where have you been? 2012 is the 2nd year they’ve been paperless

May 11, 2012 at 4:56 pm

I think he ment will call only or some sort of anti scalping method like the photo ID on the Glastonbury tickets.

May 11, 2012 at 4:31 pm

The Rolling Stones headlining…

May 11, 2012 at 4:29 pm
