Red Hot Chili Peppers are less than a month away from the start of their new singles series, but today, they’re promoting last year’s I’m With You with the video for “Brendan’s Death Song”. The ballad was written for the late Brendan Mullen, who in 1983 booked the Peppers to open for Bad Brains at his Hollywood punk club the Masque. Flea described that show as a “huge step for us.”

As Rolling Stone points out, the video for “Brendan’s Death Song” celebrates Mullen’s life with a jazz funeral, and all four band members appear in the procession. Watch it here.
