The ever-prolific Damon Albarn won’t take much of a breather once Blur wraps up their 21st anniversary festivities. Just one month after closing out the Olympics with his Blur band mates, Albarn will lead another collective of musicians, known as Africa Express, on a tour of the UK. And because it’s apparently now the cool thing to do, they’ll be traveling the country via train.
According to Pitchfork, the Africa Express features Albarn, Amadou & Mariam, Charli XCX, Bombay Bicycle Club’s Jack Steadman, Kano, Baloji, and more. Along with their six scheduled performances, the collective will make “pop-up performances at railway stations, schools, factories, offices, shopping centers, and homes,” plus pen new material together while en route to their destination.
