As previously reported, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood is reuniting with director Paul Thomas Anderson for his upcoming film The Master. (Greenwood previously penned the score to Anderson’s Oscar-winning film There Will Be Blood.)
As Pitchfork reports, Greenwood’s soundtrack to The Master features 11 original compositions (six of which were performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra), along with recordings from the movie’s era by Ella Fitzgerald, Jo Stafford, and more. It will be released on September 11th via Nonesuch Records, and if you pre-order now, you’ll get an instant download of Greenwood’s composition “Application 45 Version 1″.
The film — which stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, and Laura Dern — hits theaters on September 14th. Watch the trailer beneath the soundtrack’s tracklist.
