As previously reported, Metallica, The Flaming Lips, Iron Maiden, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and a bunch of other famous musicians have contributed to a new covers album in honor of Deep Purple’s Jon Lord, who died last month after suffering a pulmonary embolism. Re-Machined: A Tribute to Machine Head features 10 covers of tracks from Deep Purple’s 1972 album Machine Head.
Today, Ultimate Classic Rock is streaming six of those tracks, including “When A Blind Man Cries” by Metallica, “Smoke On The Water” by The Flaming Lips, “Pictures Of Home” by Black Label Society, and “Maybe I’m A Leo” by Smith, Glenn Hughes, and Luis Maldonado (via FutureHeartDay).
The album will be released on September 25th via Eagle Rock Entertainment. Check out the tracklist below.
