It’s been four years since Missy Elliott released a new single, and seven since she released her last album, 2005′s The Cookbook. But if you believe her frequent collaborator/producer Timbaland, we’re just a week away (!) from hearing two new singles from the Misdemeanor.

Timbaland wrote on Twitter:

“oh snapp yall my sista @MissyElliott is droppin her singles #9thinning and #triplethreat labor day weekend. watch it world we backk!!!”

“9th Inning” was first performed by Elliott and Timbaland during a concert in New York earlier this year, and “Triple Threat” was previewed by Timbaland at South by Southwest. Both tracks will presumably appear on Elliott’s long-in-the-works new album Block Party.
