On October 29th, Scottish super-producer Calvin Harris will release a new album entitled 18 months. Along with guest spots from Dizzee Rascal, Ellie Goulding, and Tinie Tempah, Florence Welch (aka Florence and the Machine) makes an appearance on the song “Sweet Nothing”, which recently premiered on BBC Radio 1 (Harris also recently remixed Welch’s single “Spectrum”).

Harris’ production is standard fare, with lots of wubby bass and playful synths. Welch’s vocals, though, take on an especially operatic air, lending weight to the thin concept (“I’m living on such sweet nothing/But I’m tired of hope with nothing to hold/I’m living on such sweet nothing”). Stream a radio rip below (via FACT).

The track isn’t Welch’s first foray into the realm of electronica. In a June interview with NME, Welch revealed she’s made a “weird house track that sounded quite churchy” under the pseudonym Side Project.
