Rap videos have long been a medium where women are portrayed in a less-than-savory light. For better or worse, though, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib have added a new chapter to the struggle/dynamic with their vid for “Shame”. In the Jonah Schwartz-directed clip, Gibbs plays host to a slew of random women, pumping them with smooth talk and illicit substances, before one particularly impervious female tries to give the MC his comeuppance. Is this another way to assert dominance?
