Arcade Fire will appear at a benefit concert for the family of Denis Blanchette, as ArcadeFireTube points out. The 48-year-old lightning technician was killed while trying to stop a man wielding a semi-automatic rifle from entering a party held on election night by Parti Québécois leader Pauline Marois.
The concert is set for October 1st in Montreal at the Metropolis. Arcade Fire will perform an acoustic set and appear alongside Celine Dion and Patrick Watson on the bill. Tickets go on sale today at noon local time and proceeds will benefit Blanchette’s family.
