On Saturday, September 22nd, Ft. Lauderdale, FL’s The Green Room will host a night celebrating the best of independent cinema with By Way of Wes Anderson. Presented by Subculture, in conjunction with Consequence of Sound, the all-night event will showcase Anderson-inspired artwork by local and national artists (including our own Kristin Frenzel), DJ sets by Jolt Radio and Andie Sweetswirl, local recipes by Riverside Market, and live performances by Saskatchewan and Levek. The two Max Fischer-approved bands will perform both originals and pieces found within Anderson’s film soundtracks.
Similar to Subculture’s previous sold-out event — Sincerely Yours, Marty McFly — Fine Print Shoppe will sell live screen-printed shirts, Spin’s Ian Witlen will curate a commemorative photo booth, Indie Craft Bazaar vendors will sell themed items, and there will be plenty of swag provided by local South Florida talent and business. What’s more, Subvert will premiere its upcoming adventure, Triumphant Vision.
