Manic Street Preachers’ 1992 debut, Generation Terrorists, turns 20 years old this year, and to celebrate the band is releasing five different reissues of the album on November 5th (via NME). The 18-track effort will be available digitally, on single CD and special 12″ double vinyl, and as two special editions — Legacy and Limited — that feature exclusive tracks, unseen film footage, home movies, and unique artwork.
“The album and the demos sound young, our ambitions sound ludicrous, and considering the polemic portrayed, we were actually really fucking funny,” bassist Nicky Wire told NME. ”A lot of people are attached to the darkness of The Holy Bible‘ or the bigness of Everything Must Go… but for some, that initial colourful burst of the glamorous punk band meant more than any other version.”
The Legacy Edition contains two CDs and a DVD, while the Limited Collector’s Edition strings together three CDs, a DVD, a book, and a 10″ vinyl release. As you mull over the formats, stream one of the album’s more memorable cuts below.
