On November 13th, Mudhoney will release a new live DVD, entitled Live In Berlin, 1988, via !K7 Records. The rare, recently uncovered performance at Berlin’s Independent Days festival captures the Seattle grunge outfit’s debut overseas performance, marking the first time the genre crossed over onto foreign soil.
“We couldn’t understand quite why this was happening, why ours was the band that was flying out, or what was going on,” vocalist and guitarist Mark Arm reflects in a press release. “We’d only played Portland, outside of Seattle… And to be flown out to Berlin to play a show, at that point, seemed almost like a joke to us.”
The DVD release includes over 40 minutes of performance footage and a bonus interview with Arm. So, if your son or daughter has an affinity for the loud ‘n’ flannel: Keep it in mind for the holidays.
