Everyone’s thinking purple this week. Earlier today, Muse stopped by BBC’s Radio One Live Lounge to knock out some new tracks off next week’s The 2nd Law, some past favorites, and this riff-rioting cover of Prince‘s “Sign o’ the Times” (via SKoA). Over quaking Muse-sounding riffs, Matt Bellamy channels the Minneapolis legend’s single off the 1987 album of the same name, pretty much making it his own. Although the band’s rendition has popped up in recent setlists, nothing has sounded this sharp. Stream it below.

Update: Watch Muse’s full 26 minute performance below (via Fake Walls).

The 2nd Law hits stores on October 2nd via Helium 3/Warner Bros. Records.
