The five guys of alternative rock band Midnight Spin gained a substantial stream of solid press following the release of their 2009 debut EP, Through the Mojo Wire. Readers of The Deli NYC named the Williamsburg-bred band Best Emerging Artist of 2009, they took home Best Indie/Alt/Hard Rock song at the 2010 Independent Music Awards, and played some awesome website’s 2011 RSD after party. Now, they’re ready to release their debut album, Don’t Let Me Sleep.
The album’s lead single, “Neuroin”, is a prime example of the type of energetic, catchy rock Midnight Spin, um, spins. Hooking riffs a-plenty are primed for pit dancing, flittering keys and “oooh”s keep it melodic, while hammering bass and drums keep it rocking nicely. Imagine if Foo Fighters some how grew up as fans of early The Killers, with a little of The Strokes tossed in for flavor; “Neurion” floats heartily in that stew. Check it out below.
