The Pains of Being Pure at Heart have announced a new 7″ single for October comprising covers of The Magnetic Fields (“Jeremy”) and East River Pipe (“My Life is Wrong”). The former was posted today on the band’s fan Tumblr with a lengthy introduction by Peggy Wang.
Wang writes, “The Magnetic Fields, for me, were part of an immature phase. I know that has negative connotations, but in hindsight, I don’t think I could have fallen harder for any other band at any other time in my life.” Read the rest here and stream the track below.
Jeremy b/w My Life is Wrong arrives officially on October 9th via Slumberland, and the single marks the band’s first new recordings since their 2011 debut, Belong.
Following tonight’s show at Portland’s Musicfest NW, the band will take a short break before heading overseas for a series of European dates. Consult the full itinerary below.
