Sigur Rós have released another video from their ongoing “Valtari Mystery Film Experiment”, and it’s for the track “Ekki múkk”. It’s the tenth such effort from the series, spanning appropriately ten minutes in length, though it warrants its chunk of time. The video follows the truly remarkable partnership of an estranged Tommy Carcetti (aka Aidan Gillen) and one very wise snail (voiced by UK folk singer Shirley Collins). Director Nick Abrahams pulls from a forthcoming feature film of his, making this “something of a taster.” Color this writer excited for what he’s got in store later down the road.
As previously reported, the band has commissioned a dozen filmmakers to create music videos for the ”Valtari Mystery Film Experiment”. Each filmmaker was given the “same modest budget and asked to create whatever comes into their head when they listen to songs from Valtari. The idea is to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow people utmost creative freedom.” Other videos include Seraph, “Ég anda” 1, “Ég anda” 2, Varúð 1, Varúð 2, “Fjögur píanó”, “Rembihnútur”, “Varðeldur”, and “Dauðalogn”.
