Ever since that Matt Lauer interview, Kanye West has chosen to boycott the media. That explains why Jay-Z did all the talking during Watch the Throne, and why Kanye has let the rest of the G.O.O.D. Music crew handle the promo for Cruel Summer. But with the projected sales numbers for Cruel Summer well below Kanye’s normal standards, the Chicago rapper is now getting involved in the marketing. He’s not ready to be interviewed, but he is ready to give an interview. Okay, so maybe it’s not on par with the David Byrne interview used to promote Stop Making Sense, but this short video does its job. Kanye discusses the album, his absurd creative standards, his label, and more, all on his own volition.
