 Green Day postpone tour dates

With Billie Joe Armstrong still receiving substance abuse treatment, Green Day have reshuffled their upcoming tour schedule. Having already pulled out of their appearance at this past weekend’s Voodoo Experience, the band has now scrapped their upcoming club shows scheduled along the West coast in late November/early December. They’ve also postponed their 2013 area tour with Best Coast; however, dates for these rescheduled shows will be announced shortly and previously purchased tickets will be honored on the new dates.

As a consolation, the band has moved up the release of the third album in their trilogy, ¡Tré!, to December 11th, 2012 from its original date of January 15th, 2013. ¡Dos! is still set to arrive on November 13th.

“Obviously the timing for this isn’t ideal, but Billie Joe’s well-being is our main concern,” said Mike Dirnt in an issued statement. “We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can’t wait to see you all again soon.”

“We feel bad we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we had planned,” added Tré Cool. “If we couldn’t be there to play it for you live, the least we could do was give you the next best thing.”

Below, you can listen to their latest new song to surface, “Stop When the Red Lights Flash” off ¡Dos!,  and find all the affected tour dates.
