As both a solo entity and as a member of Company Flow, El-P has followed up various albums with an accompanying instrumental version. Today, he continues that tradition with release of the verse-less version of the critically-lauded Cancer For Cure via Fat Possum Records. Though the effort excludes rhymes from heavyweight guests Killer Mike and Danny Brown, the “intricate details (and the) bruising low-end and sonic references to Bomb Squad-era B-sides are made even more evident when absorbed without verses,” according to a press release. You’ve already heard the erratic “Tougher Colder Killer”, and now the high-energy album opener, “Request Denied”, is streaming below.
