The 10-track effort was produced by Anastasio and Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Jónsi) and features members of The National and Mates of State. Coheed and Cambria are streaming the first half of their new double album, The Afterman: Ascension, at RollingStone.com. The band self-financed and co-produced The Afterman alongside Michael Birnbaum and Chris Bittner, who produced the band’s first three albums, in Woodstock, NY. The album also marks the return of original drummer Josh Eppard, who the band parted ways with in 2006. The Afterman: Ascension hits stores on October 9th. Its counterpart, The Afterman: Descension, will follow in February 2013.

Assembled by Beck and producer Hector Castillo in celebration of Glass’ 75th birthday, the 12-track effort features contributions from Dan Deacon, Amon Tobin, Memory Tapes, Tyondai Braxton, Pantha du Prince, and more. It will be released on October 23rd via Orange Mountain Music/Ernest Jenning/The Kora Records.
