Plenty of music videos appeal to the romantics, dance aficionados, and even those obsessed with pilgrims. But few videos cater to the 13-year-old-boys of the world, something that A Place To Bury Strangers address in the music video for “And I’m Up”.
Director Karl Ackermann, brother to lead guitarist/vocalist Oliver Ackermann, combines Worship‘s coming-of-age tune with his “Action Figure Destruction Derby, an ultra-violent toy commercial, a non-CGI Toy Story 4: Battle Royale.” The end result is a mindless barrage of melting He-Man figures, scorched backflipping toy dogs, and plenty of fireworks.
